ABOUT OUR COATS:

 

There are plenty of great reasons to love our coats aside from the great styles, fit, fine fabrics and colours:

 

At Coats by Mary Ellen, we hand select our fabrics from the finest Italian mills.  We have 100% cashmere, cashmere/wool blends, boiled wool, alpaca, mohair and many others. 

 

You can rest assured that our coats are not mass produced.  We cut our coats in small quantities, and each coat is hand finished.  This ensures the uniqueness and high quality of your coat.

 

Our winter coats will keep you WARM!  All our winter coats are chamois lined.  Here's how it works!   Behind the satin lining lies the flannel backing. Between the flannel backing and the shell (the outside) of our coats is the chamois lining.  The chamois lining is a made of (natural) suede and used as additional layer of protection from wind and cold.

 

We use woven fusing on all our coats and jackets. Woven fusing strengthens areas of stress and stabilizes areas where buttons and button holes are sewn.  It helps increase the life of your garment and helps your garment maintain its shape without adding bulk.

 

EXTRA! EXTRA!... That's right!  All Coats by Mary Ellen coats and jackets come complete with extra buttons... and we will happily replace them for you should you lose any (for free).

 

All our garments are made locally at our shop located at 951 Wilson Avenue, in Toronto.

MADE TO MEASURE:

 

A Made-to-Measure coat is not a thing of the past.  Here at Coats by Mary Ellen you have a say in what you wear and how you wear it.

  

When a coat is Made-to-Measure you are ensuring a perfect fit.

 

You have the luxury of personalizing your garment.  You select the style, colour,  fabric, lining (monogrammed lining available), and buttons. You also have the option of adding fur trim such as fox, beaver, mink etc... You can add fur to hoods, cuffs, collars etc...  You create a coat that is uniquely yours.

 

The process of Made-to-Measure generally requires 3 weeks.  

 

The price of Made-to-Measure is normally at a 25% premium from in stock items.

 

Once you have enjoyed the experience of having your coat Made-to-Measure, you will see and feel the difference that it makes.

 

You also have the satisfaction of knowing your coat is as unique as you.
